Fiery rhythm and flaming passion heat up the night! From the dancehalls of Argentina between the world wars, to the 50's night spots of Spanish Harlem, to today's hottest urban Latin clubs, Nightclub is a stunningly theatrical production conceived by Artistic Director Tina Ramirez and created by three choreographers widely known for their work on Broadway and television: Graciela Daniele, Luis Perez and Sergio Trujillo. Danced to the beat of tangos, classic Latin rhythms and the most contemporary sounds, the evening traces the evolution of Hispanic culture in our hemisphere--from the tradition-bound Old World mentality to a powerful force in the New World. Each of the three works reflects the growing empowerment of Latin women in the stories of people whose passions, romance and longing shaped their lives. You won't want to miss Ballet Hispanico's exciting return to Staller Center!
