Powerful, fast-paced and energetic, the Beijing Modern Dance Company dances to the music of Pink Floyd's “The Wall” and explores a world where most lead their lives without direction or aim. Artistic Director Will Taso says Rear Light is meant to reflect the younger generation in China today -- their fight to be free from tradition and their search for new challenges. Going beyond the normal definition of “modern dance,” this far-reaching event is full of movement and sound. The Beijing Modern Dance Company has gathered under its umbrella some of the best modern dancers in China since its founding in 1995 and has built a team of outstanding choreographers. Since its inauguration, the company has attracted attention by integrating the traditional culture of China with influences from around the world. Rear Light and the Beijing Modern Dance Company will astound.
