Anastasia Belukova (soprano)           Adele

Born in Krasnodar, Ms Belukova graduated from the Krasnodar music college in 2001. She is a student at the Russian Academy of Theatral Arts, pr.D.Bertman. Soloist with Helikon Opera since 2002, her repertoire includes: Lizetta in Bach’s Kaffeecantate and Caroline in Gretry’s Pierre le Grand.

 

Vladimir Bolotin (tenor)                     Alfred, Dr. Blind

Born in 1973, Mr Bolotin finished musical school in 1998 and went on to graduate from the Moscow Institute of Culture. He joined Helikon-Opera Theater as a chorus singer and has been a soloist since 1999. He has taken part in many tours around the world, including Lebanon, Italy, Austria, Spain, France and the USA. His wide repertoire features such roles as; Tenore in Bach’s The Coffee Cantata, Maler in Berg’s Lulu, Remendado in Bizet’s Carmen, Pierre and Alexis in Gretry’s Pierre le Grand, Albert Gregor in Janáček‘s Věc Macropulos, Oebalus in Mozart’s Apollo et Hyacinthus, Nathanael in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Chevalier in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmelites, Fenton and Bardolfo in Verdi’s Falstaff, Malcolm in Verdi’s Macbeth, Gaston in Verdi’s La Traviata, Kashey in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Kaschey the Immortal, Andrei and Iskra in Tchaikovsky’s Mazeppa, Zinovij Borisovitch, Teacher and Shabby peasant in Shostakovich’s Lady Macbeth of the Mzensk’s district.

 

Sergey Braga (tenor)                              Alfred

S.Braga was born in Klintzi and graduated from music school in 1987 as a violonist. In 1991 he graduated from Gomel Music college as a vocalist and in 1998, he graduated from St.Peterburg Conservatory, in Pluznikov’s and Fedotova’s class. Since 1994 he has sung with the Mussorgski Malij Opera Theater and the St.Peterburg’s Musical Comedy Theatre. Since 2005 he has been a soloist with Helikon Opera Theater. His repertoire includes Alfredo in Verdi's La Traviata, Lensky in Tchaikovsky's Evgeny Onegin, Likov in Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar's bride.

 

 

 

Mikhail Davydov (baritone)                 Frank

Born in Moscow, Mr Davydov graduated from the Musical School of the Moscow Conservatory in 1995. Five years later, he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory (prof. A.Loshak's class) and became a soloist with Helikon Opera. He was awarded Special prizes for “Best performance of Russian music” and “Young Talent” at the International Francisco Vinas Lyric Competition in Barcelone (2000) and 2nd prize at the 1st Elena Obraztsova International Vocal Camera Competition (2000). In 2001 he obtained a diploma from the International Vocal Competition "Hans Gabor Belvedere" in Vienna (Austria) and a Diploma from the 2nd Elena Obraztsova International Vocal Camera Competition (2001). Mr Davydov has sung on tour in Great Britain, France, Spain and China. His repertoire includes;  Mikael in Bach’s Bauernkantate, Dr.Schons in Berg’s Lulu, Escamillo in Bizet’s Carmen, Georges in Gretry’s Pierre le Grand, 1st Actor, Lion in Lamp’s Pyramus and Thisbe, Don Alfonso in Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutti, Don Giovanni in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Lindorf, Coppelius, Dapertutto, Miracle in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Marquis de la Force in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmelites, Falstaff in Verdi’s Falstaff, Poprishin in Budko’s Notes of the Fool, Old Gypsy in Rachmaninov’s Aleko and the title role in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin.

 

Nikolai Dorozhkin (tenor)                  Eisenstein, Alfred

Born in Moscow, Mr Dorazhkin was a soloist of the Children’s Choir of The Bolshoi Theatre. He graduated from the Gnessins’ Liceo as an Actor of Music theatre and went on to study at the Moscow Conservatory with Yury Grigoriev.  He continued his studies privately with Claude Thiolas in Italy. In 1998 participated in Master classes in Modena (Italy), Mr Arrigo Pola. First Prize in the II. International Singing Competition Budapest. Soloist of "Helikon opera" from 1998. Grechishkina Anna was born in Tula and graduated from The Moscow State Pedagogical University. From 1997 she sang as a soloist in the Natalia Sats Children's musical theatre during which time she participated in B.Vajkl's master-class (Metropolitan) – with the role of Konstanze ("Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail”). She was awarded first prize in the "Student's Spring" (Vladimir, 1995) and since 2001 she has been a soloist with Helikon Opera Theater. Tours include: France, Austria, Lebanon, Germany and Japan. Elena Gushchina (mezzo-soprano)       Prince Orlofsky, Ida

Honored Artist of Russia

Elena Gushchina was born in Moscow. In 1983 she graduated from the Moscow Academy of Performing Arts where she studied with Professor Boris Pokrosky and immediately joined the Moscow Chamber Music Theater. There she performed all the leading mezzo-soprano parts, including Shostakovich’s ”The Nose”, Rossini’s ”ll Cambiale di Matrimonio”, Peri’s ”Dafne”, Walton’s ”The Bear”, etc. She toured worldwide with the theater and in 1993 Ms Gushchina made her debut at the Vienna Chamber Opera in Rossini’s ”La Scala di Seta”. She then appeared in the title role of Massenet’s ”Cherubin” and as Larina in Tchaikovsky’s ”Eugene Onegin”, also at Vienna Chamber Opera. In the summer of 1994 she performed the role of Cherubino in ”Le Nozze di Figaro” at the festival ”Mozart in Schoenbrunn” in Vienna. Since the beginning of the 94/95 season, Gushchina has been a soloist with the Helikon Opera Company. In 1995 she successfully performed as the Countess in Tchaikovsky’s ”The Queen of Spades” at Wexford Festival Opera. Tours have included; Great Britain, Spain, Lebanon, Austria, France and USA. Her repertoire encompasses all the great mezzo roles such as: Carmen in Bizet’s Carmen, Genevieve in Gretry’s Pierre le Grand, Apollo in Mozart’s Apollo et Hyacinthus, Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Muse, Nicklausse in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Madame de Croissy in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmelites, Clarina in Rossini’s La Cambiale di Matrimonio, Rosina in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Amneris in Verdi’s Aida, Meg in Verdi’s Falstaff, Flora in Verdi’s La Traviata, Neighbor in Stravinsky’s Mavra, Kasheevna in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Kaschey the Immortal, Lubasha, Duniasha in Rimsky-Korsakov ’s The Tsar’s Bride, Podtochina in Shostakovich’s The Nose, Larina in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Martha in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and the Countess in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades.

 

Yulia Korpacheva (soprano)               Rosalinde

Born in Frunze, Ms Korpacheva graduated from the Moscow Conservatory and has been a soloist with Helikon Opera since 2000. Other engagements have included performances with the Conservatoire’s Ensemble of Ancient music, with the «Moscow Soloists» Chamber orchestra, Orchestra of the Saint Louis en l’Ile Festival, Lithuanian National Orchestra and others.  She has collaborated with such musicians as Bashmet, Kremer, Sir Simon Rattle and Voldemar Nelson. Ms Korpacheva has participated in such festivals as: «Elba, European Musical Island» Italy, «La Musique de l’Ocean» France, Nights of December, Salzburg’s summer festival, Radio France Montpellier and others. Performed on the stage of Carnegie Hall (New York) and other famous stages in the USA and Japan. Recordings include «The Russian seasons» with Gideon Kremer and his Kremerata Baltica. Tours: Great Britain, France, Austria, USA, Italy, Japan. Sergey Kostyuk (bariton)                      Dr. Falke

Sergey Kostyuk was born in Moscow where he graduated from the Gnesin Russian Music Academy in 1994, studying singing with Professor Vladimir Scherbakov. Since 1993 he has been a soloist with Moscow State Helikon Opera Theater. In 1977 he was honored as a Gold medalist of the World Championship of Performing Arts in Los Angeles (1997). Although he began his singing career as a baritone, he now sings some tenor roles. Tours include: Lebanon, USA, Great Britain, France, Italy, Austria. Born in Moscow, Ms Kuidzhi graduated from Moscow Gnessin Music Academy in 1986. Since 1991, she has studied with Professor Gertruda Troyanova. In 1986-1991 she performed with the Moscow Music Theatre «The Third Dimension». In 1992-1998 she was a soloist with the Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet House in Perm’. In 1996 she performed the Russian premiere of Ghiya Kanchelli’s «Lament» for soprano and orchestra and, also in 1996 she was awarded a National Theatre Award «The Golden Mask» winner for the best female role. Since 1998 she has been a soloist with Helikon Opera Theatre. Tours: Germany (including Musikfestspiele Festival in Potsdam), France, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Spain, USA. Born in Moscow, Ms Lobasheva graduated from the Gnessin music school in 1997 and in 2003, she also graduated from Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS). Since 2004, she has been a soloist with Helikon Opera. Her repertoire includes: Caroline in Gretry’s Pierre le Grand, Soeur Mathilde in Poulence’s Les Dialogues des Carmelites, in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s Macbeth, Lisa in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades and Tatyana in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin.

 

Mikhail Lyakhov (actor)                      Clown- Mime

Born in Baltijsk, Mr Lyakhov graduated from the Russian Theatrical Arts Academy (GITIS) in 2001.  where he studied acting with prof. Hejfetz. From 2001, he worked at the Kaliningrad Music Theater „Na Basmannoj“. From 2002 up to the present, Mr Lyakhov has been a Helikon Opera artist.

He has toured in Lebanon, Germany and his theatrical credits include: Strimador in Aristophan’s Lysistrata, Mack the Knife in Brecht’s The Threepenny Opera, Henry Higgins in B.Shaw and A.Lerner’s My Fair Lady, Dikoj in Ostrovski Storm and Don Juan in Pushkin’s Stone guest.

 

Matvey Matveev (actor)                        Clown- Mime

Born in Kaliningrad, Mr Matveev graduated from the Experimental Theatral Studio, pr. Bukharin in 1997. In 2001 he graduated from the Russian Theatrical Arts Academy (GITIS), where he studied acting with prof. Hejfetz. From 2001 he worked at Kaliningrad Music Theater „Na Basmannoj“

From 2002 up to the present, he has been a Helikon Opera artist. Tours include; Lebanon and Germany. Theatrical credits includes: Peachum in Brecht’s The Threepenny Opera, Freddy in B.Shaw and A.Lerner’s My Fair Lady, Josef in Verdi’s La Traviata, Tikhon in Ostrovski Storm, Ahab in Melville’s Moby Dick.

 

Ekaterina Oblezova (soprano)          Rosalinde

Honored Artist of Russia

Ms Oblezova was born in Moscow and, in 1994 graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod State Glinka Conservatory.

Since 1993, she began working with Helikon Opera Theater as a choral singer and subsequently as Theater soloist. Her strong point is temperamental roles in comic operas. One of her first solo roles was Ida from Strauss’s Die Fledermaus . Ida is a very funny and touching role which endears her to audiences.  Her performances are always psychologically exact and recognizable. Ekaterina Oblezova – is an artist who possesses a broad and colorful palette.  Directing became a natural continuation of her creative leanings and as assistant to the director she worked on Verdi’s Macbeth (directed by Denis Krief); Rimsky-Korsakov ’s The Tsar’s Bride, Kashey the Immortal, Berg’s Lulu - and many more performances directed by Dmitry Bertman. Tours: Lebanon, Great Britain, France, USA, Israel, Spain, Italy. Anatoly Ponomarev was born in Sverdlovsk. In 1988 he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Musorgsky Conservatory where he studied singing with prof. V.Gurevitch. In 1991 A.Ponomarev became the Laureate of the Chaliapin International Singing Competition in Kasan.

He was a soloist with the theaters of Samara, Barnaul and St-Petersburg. He has performed at the Hungarian State Opera and with the Moscow Municipal New Opera. Since 1997, he has been a soloist with Helikon Opera Theater. He has toured in France and Holland. Dmitriy Ponomarev was born in Berezniki and graduated from the Nizhnij Novgorod Conservatory in 2000 in pr.Kozmin’s class. He worked with the Nizhnij Novgorod Chamber theater and Perm Opera and, since 2004 he has been a soloist with Helikon Opera Theater. He has performed in France and Israel. Born in Gus-Khrustalny, Ms Rossiyskaya graduated from Moscow Music Ippolitov-Ivanov Liceo as choirmaster in 1986. From 1989 to 1994 she was a soloist with the Moscow State Chamber Choir directed by Vladimir Minin. In 1994 she graduated from the Moscow Conservatory Liceo as vocalist. She went on to graduate from the Moscow Academy of Professional Arts as an opera actress in 1997. In 1996 she was a finalist in the International Queen Elisabeth Vocal Competition in Brussels. In 1999 she became a soloist of Helikon Opera Theatre. Tours: France, Spain, Israel, Italy, Japon, Austria, Germany. Born in Ulan-Ude, Mr Serychev graduated from Gnessin Russian Music School in 1983 where she studied singing with Professor Alexandrova. He sang in the rock groups «Rush-hour» and «Master» and was in the cast of the Russian version of „Jesus Christ Superstar“ in the part of Jesus which was recorded. Since 1999, he has been a soloist with Helikon Opera Theater. His first role was the Astrologue in “The Golden Cockerel” by Rimsky-Korsakov. He is a laureate of many Russian Music Competitions. Svetlana Sozdateleva (soprano)      Rosalinde

Born in Moscow, Ms Sozdateleva graduated from the Music School - class of violin; the Music College at the Moscow Conservatory – in the choir master class. In 1996, she attended Sveshnikov’s Choral Academy where her specialty was "solo singing" and in 1999 she began an assistant-period of training at the faculty of solo singing (class of V. P.Aleksandrova). Since 1999 she has been a soloist with Helikon Opera. She made her debut in the role of Katerina in Shostakovich’s «Lady Macbeth of Mzensk». Winner of the 3rd Russian Competition of young vocalists in 1995 in Moscow (2nd prize). Tours: Italy, Great Britain, France, Spain. Her repertoire: Carmen in Bizet’s Carmen, Emilia Marty in Janacek’s Vec Makropulos, Madame Lidoine in Poulence’s Dialogues des Carmelites, Tosca in Puccini’s Tosca, Aida in Verdi’s Aida, Abigaille in Verdi’s Nabucco, Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s Macbeth, Maddalena in Prokofiev’s Maddalena, Saburova in Rimsky-Korsakov ’s The Tsar’s Bride, Katerina in Shostakovich’s Lady Macbeth of the Mzensk’s distric, Maria in Tchaikovsky’s Mazeppa and Lisa in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades.

Ksenia Vyaznikova (mezzo-soprano)   Prince Orlofsky, Ida

Ms Vyaznikova was born in Moscow where she graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1998. From 1996-1998 she was a student singer at the Vienna Musical Academy with professor I.Vamzer. At the Vienna State Opera, she performed Azucena in Verdi’s “Il Trovatore”, Cherubino in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro”. In 1998 she made her debut at the Czech National Opera in «Carmen» and «Samson et Dalila». In 2000, she took part in an international project around Mozart’s «Le Nozze di Figaro» where she performed Cherubino. In 2003, with Italian conductor Marko Boemi, and director Denis Krief, she took part in Verdi's «Nabucco» in the role of Fenena. In 2003, she sang in the first opera festival «Samara Spring» where she performed Amneris in Verdi’s “Aida”.  She also took part in the Sobinov and Shaliapin festivals where she won the following awards; 1st prize in the Schubert competition, 2nd prize in the Pechkovskiy competition (Vocalists in Bolshoy), a diploma in the Rimsky-Korsakov competition. She was a prize winner also in «New name of the Planet». She was Cherubino in Mozart’s «Le Nozze di Figaro» for a TV production.   Ms Vyaznikova has been a soloist with Helikon Opera since 2001.
