State Ballet Theatre of Russia
with full symphony orchestra
Saturday, January 27, 2007
at 8:00 pm
Main Stage - $40
Sponsored by Washington Mutual
All of the Arabian Nights come to life
on our stage with gorgeous costumes, harem
settings and virtuoso dancing accompanied by a full
symphony orchestra.
The story of love—
Sinbad and the Enchanted
Bird; the story of beauty—Aladdin,
the magic lamp and the beautiful
princess, Budur; the story of wisdom—
Ali Baba and the thieves that are
thwarted by his beautiful, clever wife
Marjana, are all in the stories that
Scheherazade tells to the powerful Sultan.
The Sultan, betrayed by his wife and angered
and humiliated, has condemned her and all
the other young women of the kingdom to
death. Scheherazade convinces him to listen to
her stories and to delay the executions as long as he is entertained.
Come and be entranced and entertained for at least one night by this critically acclaimed Russian
ballet troupe and orchestra.
