One of the elite artists of our generation who has won the Academy Award (Ghost, 1991),
The Golden Globe (The Color Purple, 1985 and Ghost 1991), the Emmy (host of AMC’s Beyond
Tara: The Extraordinary Life of Hattie McDaniel, 2002), the Grammy (Whoopi Goldberg, 1985)
and the Tony (Producer, Thoroughly Modern Millie, 2002), Whoopi Goldberg will bring her
unique brand of humor to Staller Center for an intimate and raucous night of comedy.
Her illustrious stage, TV and film career includes one-woman shows on Broadway directed by
Mike Nichols; co-hosting the now-historic Comic Relief with Billy Crystal and Robin Williams;
roles in many hit movies, five seasons on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and her own talk show.
In addition to all of Ms. Goldberg’s honors and awards, her tireless efforts on behalf of children,
the homeless, human rights, substance abuse and the battle against AIDS are ongoing.
Actress, comedienne, producer, writer (her children’s book “Alice” will be performed at Staller
in February) and humanitarian, Ms. Goldberg has done it all.
